Fairsky Kennels was established in 1976, breeding pure bred dogs to type, soundness and temperament.
Originally we started breeding English pointers, but quickly changed to the Springers after seeing a lovely dog, Aust Ch. Hawkhill Crepello. This was the start of our Springer breeding which were all English lined bred which are Moorcliff, Hawkhill and Mompesson lines.
We also introduced a touch of American, the mother of Aust Ch Fairsky Tales of Terror (Sooty) was produced from Grand Ch Alhambra Oliver Reed and Aust/NZ Ch Shardust Mirage (Imp USA).
Our boy Aust Ch Fairsky Jack the Ripper remains all English Bred lines and now is retired along with Sooty.
We bred our last litter in early 2008 for very good friends of ours Lyn & Doug Ayres of which they owned Fairsky Murder at Midnight. She is now living back with us as my husband couldn't live without an English Springer. In Australia today and also behind many successful dogs in Sweden and Norway, we have exported dogs and semen and our breeding are behind some of these winning off spring.
Over the past 21 years we have always owned a whippet as our pet.
Sharon became extremely busy and involved with her son Patrick and I of course started to get arthritis, this made grooming Springers a very difficult task and so we decided to start breeding whippets seriously.
We imported American Ch Festiva's Hot As Hell (Imp USA) to give us a starting point for breeding. Tabasco as he is affectionately know, was the type of whippet that we found very attractive and thought he would give us a good starting point.
Tony Wills of Rosiel Whippets has been a very good friend of ours since 1976, he was also kind enough to give us Leisor Dance to the beat. Izzy as she is affectionately known is thoroughly spoilt and is Patrick's (Sharon's son) best friend.
